Help me find the perfect jeans! By Linda Bell

There are so many jeans. each promising leg lengthening, bum-skimming miracles, that we can end up drowning in denim.  So we amassed a pile of hundreds, and got four members of the EL team with four different body gripes (who shall remain anonymous) to try them on.  Here's their pick of the best . . .

Jeans for short legs

Our advice

Stick to slim-fitting jeans as wide legs can make you look square, and cuffs or bootcuts can make your legs look shorter.  Only wear flares with high heels, and make the hem come straight to the floor to create the illusion of length.  As a rule of thumb jeans should be fitted down to your knees.  And, as denim companies routinely manufacture long seams to accommodate everyone, you'll have to have most pairs taken up - so find a good tailor.
