Autumn 2025’s
BEST DENIM TRENDS

Wondering what trends to get ahead of when it comes to denim for the coming season/autumn? Discover our denim experts’ guide to the key denim trends to know for 2025.
What are the best denim trends for Autumn 2025?
From deep, dark denim rinses to seasonal textures, Autumn is an exciting time when it comes to denim. With sleek bootcuts, vintage-inspired long straight legs and barrel legs amongst our favourite, read on to uncover the key trends and how to style them for the upcoming season.
1. Dark & RINSE Washes

A truly grown-up approach to denim, dark washes have always been a staple for the cooler months. Enter the rinse – a saturated, clean and super-dark wash often adorned with tonal or warm tobacco contrast stitching for that authentic finish. Though you may have seen a peppering of super-dark rinse denim over the past couple of seasons, get ready for it to become a regular in your denim rotation.
With no fading, rinse jeans offer a clean and consistent dark blue shade that looks smart, modern and on-trend. Rinse washes do vary slightly, from subtly sheeny midnight blues in rigid but soft denim, to inky dark washes in softer, stretchy fabrics.
You can expect to see dark denim rinses in multiple forms – so this one can easily be tailored to your personal style. From stovepipe straight legs to elevated wide and bootcut silhouettes, it’s the season for darker-than-dark denim. Our favourites include cult wide leg jean FRAME’s Le Slim Palazzo with Modernist Pockets in Rinse, Citizens of Humanity’s Miro Long Barrel in Medina, and AG’s Hattie Barrel Leg in 2 Years Prose.
What are the best brands for rinse denim?
Our favourite rinses for Autumn come from FRAME, Paige & Citizens of Humanity.
How should rinse denim fit?
This will depend on what leg shape you go for – the beauty of this trend is that you can make it your own! We’re particularly loving the wide leg for the season ahead – fitting closely at the waist before falling into a cool, relaxed leg. It’s worth noting that more saturated denim washes can sometimes come up a little smaller, particularly in rigid denim fabrics, so always check the fit notes before purchasing.
2. BARRELS For Winter

Get ahead of the curve – this contemporary cut is going nowhere come the winter months. You’ll have seen this style really rise to prominence towards the end of 2024 and into Spring 2025, but expect the big to get bigger with more iterations of the barrel leg emerging from your favourite iconic denim brands this autumn.
Look out for slightly longer inseams in autumn variations of the style – with key styles like Citizens of Humanity’s Miro returning in an extended 29” leg length. The new, longer take on this style gives a sleek, leg-lengthening effect and comes in dark rinse Medina or clean Solid Black.
We’re also loving MOTHER’s The Half Pipe and Paige’s Arellia and Alexis, in a variety of seasonal washes. Colours range from clean darks and blacks to easy mid-blues, as well as some unexpected seasonal extras like Miro in Dark Brown.
What should I wear with barrel leg jeans for winter?
Give your barrel legs a preppy edge with traditional smart styling – think tailored jackets, sharp shirts and collared knits with loafers. Take advantage of the new, longer versions too – they’re ideal for styling with boots through the winter. Read our full guide to styling barrel legs here.
What are the best brands for barrel leg jeans?
Citizens of Humanity, AG & MOTHER are our go-to's for the best barrels.
How should barrel leg jeans fit?
Barrel leg jeans usually come in a high or mid-rise, and they should fit closely at the waist before falling into a baggier fit from the hip all the way to the ankle, where they narrow in. Some versions are more sculptural, giving that dramatic horseshoe shape, whereas others will fit closer to the leg, more reminiscent of the classic mom jean.
3. BOOTCUTS Are Back

It’s official – prepare for the return of the bootcut. Some put the rise of this trend down to Kendrick Lamar’s Celine bell bottoms at this year’s Superbowl halftime show – but we’ve been backing the bootcut a lot longer than that. A true classic that offers a flattering, form-fitting silhouette, bootcuts are set to get bigger this coming autumn.
Following on from Spring’s popular boho resurgence, expect the bootcut moment to continue well into the winter. With western influences offering a more wintery take on bohemian dressing, the bootcut adds a cool femininity to your look. From authentic mid blues for the perfect daytime look, to clean and inky tones. The bootcut is also key fit when it comes to seasonal fabrications – look for cord, velvet and leatherette.
A bootcut icon, MOTHER’s The Weekender leads the way on this trend with a range of everyday washes, from mid-blues to greys and clean blacks. Meanwhile, AG introduce new bootcut fit Madi with an easy mid-rise and flattering fitted cut. FRAME’s The Reboot returns for the season in a range of iterations – we love their navy cord version as well as The Reboot Crop in Brown Leather.
What should I wear with bootcut leg jeans for winter?
Though an easy jean to dress down for daytime wear, the bootcut definitely has a more glamorous side for sleek evening dressing. Paige’s High-Rise Laurel Canyon is the ultimate evening boot – look out for the black or brown leatherette version with a side slit as the perfect pairing for a tonal knit and tweed jacket. By night, swap out for a silk top in chocolate brown or animal print, paired with a polished stiletto.
How should bootcut leg jeans fit?
Always strive for super soft comfort and premium fabric when you’re looking for a pair of designer bootcut jeans. Fit wise, they should fit closely from the waist down to mid-calf where they kick out into a subtle bootcut flare.
4. CORD is The A/W Fabric

A usual suspect for Autumn/Winter, the colder months always bring a smattering of velvet and cord fabrications from our favourite premium denim brands. This year, cord in particular is back in a big way, drawing inspiration from Spring’s bohemian and western trends. A cool and modern way to take on classic 70s styles, our favourites come in shades of navy and burgundy, as well as warm shades of beige and chocolate brown for the perfect tonal look.
What should I wear with cord jeans for winter?
Cords are elevated day jeans but also dress up for evening this season due to the rich, textural feel as well as the deep tones of colour. A tonal look never goes amiss, with warm chestnut brown and soft beige hues making the ideal new season combination.
5. Long & STRAIGHT

Reminiscent of classic 90’s denim, straight leg jeans are definitely shifting back towards decades gone with vintage-inspired fits, mid rises and longer lengths. Think a timeless, slimmer straight leg that gives a retrospective aesthetic. Washes are authentic, with mid blue washes in a variety of fabrications – from classic and rigid to super-soft stretch.
MOTHER’s The Kick It is a big one – a straight-bootcut hybrid that offers a lean silhouette with its 32” inseam and mid-high rise. Also available in a shorter 28.5” inseam, petite wearers can reap the rewards of this leg-lengthening fit, too.
Elsewhere, Agolde’s vintage-inspired straight leg the 90s Pinch Waist returns under a longer guise this season at 32” - the ultimate cool-girl jean for autumn.
What should I wear with straight leg jeans for winter?
A longer length doesn’t have to mean difficulty styling – opt for heels come evening or a subtle western-style boot for daytime wear. The perfect silhouette for classic styling, layer up with light roll neck tops and shirts for a subtle western nod. A tailored blazer will keep the look balanced and chic.
How should straight leg jeans fit?
Straight legs come in a variety of forms – from lean-fitting slim straight legs to slightly wider versions. To achieve that svelte, elongated look, you’ll want them to fit closely at the waist before falling into a stovepipe silhouette that skims the leg and finishes below the ankle.
6. LEATHER & Leatherette

The ultimate winter investment – the runways were awash with a plethora of leather and faux leather styles for AW25. Prepare for leather and coated denim to make an almighty comeback – in many forms. You’ll want to keep an eye out for bootcut and wide leg versions, which give a modern and fashionable finish. Colour-wise, go dark with classic black and navy styles dominating the trend and making styling a breeze.
Though typically worn after-dark, don’t restrict yourself by saving your leathers for best. The fits available can easily be dressed down by day whilst being perfect for an elevated evening look, too. Paige’s High-Rise Laurel Canyon comes with side slits for a more dressed-up look, whereas FRAME’s Le Slim Palazzo takes a more subtle approach that’s versatile for pairing with knits and flats for everyday wear.
What should I wear with leather jeans for winter?
If you’re going for a classic evening look, incorporate supple silk blouses into the mix with a heel to elevate. For a more casual approach, pair with cashmere and quality wool coats in soft winter pastel shades, and an easy flat shoe like a loafer.
How should leather jeans fit?
Fit-dependant, leather jeans look best when streamlined through the waist and thigh before falling into a wide or bootcut fit. This offers a flattering finish that exudes luxury.
7. Dressed Up DENIM

With jeans in general being such a popular choice in recent years, there’s been a real shift into dressing up denim for evening wear. Black jeans are key for this – it's the perfect way to harness more wear out of your favourite fits. For a dressed-up aesthetic, we love a black bootcut flare, giving that slightly smarter silhouette paired with luxury silks and smart tailoring.
For another take on spruced-up denim, look to seasonal fabrics like faux leather and velvet. A classic black pair is your best bet for versatile styling – explore key fits like FRAME’s Le Slim Palazzo or Paige’s High-Rise Laurel Canyon.
Why not add some sparkle? To go that extra mile, try a fun and modern look with a touch of embellishment – as seen on AG’s Hattie Barrel in Starlight.
What should I wear to dress up my denim?
Incorporate opulent fabrics like silk, cashmere and even diamante details for a dressed-up approach to jeans this season. Keep the palette cool with pale blues, cream and icy tonal greys for that evening-ready touch.
What brands are best for dressed-up denim?
FRAME and Paige have a great offer of velvet, coated & leatherette styles this season that are perfect for party season.
8. The CANADIAN Tuxedo

Denim isn’t just for the bottom half. Considered a deadly sartorial sin for some, doubling up is the easiest way to increase cool-factor when it comes to denim - whether you’re mixing washes or staying consistent with one tone.
This season, the Canadian Tuxedo is most effective with saturated rinse denim – go for a super-dark wide leg like FRAME’s Le Slim Palazzo, paired with a co-ordinating denim jacket with a light knit or shirt layered underneath. If you’re a double denim newbie, accessories like a brown leather belt can help break up the look.
How should I wear double denim?
Try a cool, casual denim jacket with your jeans - like Seventy + Mochi’s Pablo, which is back this autumn with a new, seasonal fur collar. Footwear wise, a pointed ankle boot draws on the cowboy-core influence of the trend, or a simple trainer can add casual appeal.
9. Wear Them Baggy

You’ve seen wide legs get progressively wider, dominating the denim landscape over the past few years. Well, the baggier the better this season with oversized silhouettes reigning supreme as a trend to watch for 2025. Don’t be afraid of this modern, laid-back approach to jeans – try adding a belt to cinch the waist and accentuate your shape, whilst maintaining the super-cool silhouette of baggy denim. MOTHER’s Lemon Twister* is a favourite this season, alongside Agolde’s Low Curve & Citizens of Humanity’s Ayla.
What should I wear with baggy jeans?
If you’re worried baggy denim will give you a shapeless silhouette, try tucking a boho-style blouse and adding a belt for some definition. Add a heel for an evening-worthy look, or swap out for loafers and layer up with a blazer for daytime wear.
What brands are best for baggy jeans?
Citizens of Humanity, Agolde & MOTHER have nailed cool-girl denim this season.
How should baggy jeans fit?
Baggily! Though designed to sit on the hips for that low-slung look, you can still benefit from the super-cool leg shape with a slightly more fitted waist by sizing down – remember to check the size and fit notes.
